Easy Air Fryer/Oven Cinnamon Rolls
60 mins prepServes 12
An easy and customizable cinnamon roll recipe, perfect for individual portions using Reynolds Kitchens® Air Fryer Cups. This recipe can be made in an air fryer or oven, promising a mess-free baking experience and extra gooey, moist centers thanks to a heavy cream moisture boost.
Dough Method:
1. Mix warm milk, instant yeast, and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar in a bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
2. Add the remaining granulated sugar, eggs, unsalted butter, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir in all-purpose flour gradually until the dough is tacky but not sticky.
3. Rest the dough for 20 minutes before kneading to allow the flour to hydrate fully.
4. Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 2-3 hours, or until doubled in size.
Filling:
1. In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and softened butter into a sandy paste.
Assembly:
1. Roll the risen dough into a 12x18 inch rectangle.
2. Spread the prepared filling evenly over the rolled dough.
3. Roll the dough tightly from one long side and slice into 12 equal pieces.
4. Place each roll into Reynolds Kitchens® Air Fryer Cups for proofing. Let them proof for 30–40 minutes, until puffy.
Baking:
1. Moisture boost: Before baking, pour 2–3 tablespoons of heavy cream over each roll. This seeps into the filling and creates extra gooey, moist centers.
2. Air Fryer: Bake at 300°F for 15–18 minutes.
3. Oven: Bake at 325°F for 20–22 minutes.
Icing:
1. In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, softened cream cheese, milk, and vanilla bean paste until smooth.
2. Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls.
